I am going to bring up this video every time someone asks me what our Sound to Sea Program is all about! I just LOVE it and had to share it with you all. :) This video was posted by Claxton Elementary who participated in our Sound to Sea Environmental Program in February of 2012. Enjoy!
Thank You Claxton Elementary! ~ Kristie Elliott, Asst. Group Coordinator
Mr. Lovelady's 5th grade class from Claxton Elementary visited the Sound-to-Sea Environmental Center at Trinity Center on Bogue Banks, NC for three days. The students participated in the following classes: barrier island ecology, fresh water pond, sound/marsh, beach/turtle ecology, maritime forest, challenge course/team building, and squid dissection. The students also participated in a reenactment of the Underground Railroad. It's a great program run by great counselors!
On the afternoon of the third day, the students visited the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort, NC.
